‘As summer comes to an end it would be beneficial if you could turn on your heating system for a couple of hours over the next few days to make sure it is OK for the start of the cold weather. Please also remember to leave your heating on frost setting at least if you are away from your home for more than 24hrs over the winter period. This will help reduce the likelihood of freezing pipework and burst pipes.’
